28mm British Legion Black Dragoons

Here's a batch of 28mm American War on Independence miniatures. They are painted as the British Legion, also known as Tarleton's Legion, specifically the Black Dragoons. There were several units of African-American soldiers employed by the British during the warin various loyalist units. This unit represents one such unit.

The customer wanted to do his own basing so the figures are shown still attached to the painting sticks we typically employ for 28mm figures. We tack the figures down with hot glue. This enables us to handle several figures at once the whole way through the process, from primer to clear coat. We can use an assembly-line process allowing us to complete projects a bit more quickly.

This unit has a mix of cavalry and foot:

The figures are manufactured by Perry Miniatures. They are nice clean castings that require a little bit of clean up, mostly removing the venting pieces left on. I've found the easiest way to find them is to handle the figure, running your fingers over the miniature to locate them.

More 28mm Canadians for Loyalhanna Outpost

Next up is another batch of French and Indian War Canadians for The Loyalhanna Outpost. These figures are manufactured by Galloping Major Miniatures and sold in the US by Loyalhanna Outpost.

Not much to say about these. They are of the usual fine quality and paint up easily. Again I tried to keep the colors a little more muted and realistic.

28mm AWI and Crusades Miniatures

Another commission we completed for a customer. Thsi was a mixed batch of 28's with an AWI unit and some middle ages figures for crusaders in the Holy Land.

The AWI unit are Front Ranks figures and are painted up to represent The Green Mountain Boys. The flag is from the Flag Dude:

The batch of crusaders also included a general and standard bearer for the customer's Muslim army. I think the figures are Old Glory figures, and the flag is from The Flag Dude:

The customer wanted the foot to be painted up like the troops from Jerusalem from the movie Kingdome of Heaven. This called for a nice toned down blue. The shields were hand painted by Allison:

Reaper Dungeons and Dragons and Chronoscope Figures

Allison recently completed another batch of RPG figures for a customer. Since the order included an otyugh and a carrion crawler we repainted two Ral Partha versions we had here. The first two pics show the repaints. The following pics are almost all of Reaper figures, with a couple of exceptions included.

These figures are made by Eastern Front Studios from their Fathoms Deep and Dungeon Crawl lines. The one on the left is a revenant, the middle one is a death knight, and the one on the right is a sea serpent.

The middle figure in the picture below is from the Iron Kingdoms line of miniatures from Privateer Press:

The figure on the left below is also from Eastern Front Studios' Dungeon Crawl line. It is called a Soul Wraith. The figure on the right is Reaper's version of a grell:

A trio of small monsters also from Reaper. The figure on the left represents a gauth, we think the figure in the middle is supposed to be a roper (though I always thought they were larger), and I can't recall what the figure on the right is supposed to be. Allison found it in one of the monster manuals:

The order also included some Chronoscope figures. These are made by Reaper and are sort of a Sci-Fi old west themed line of figures.

I really like the Chronoscope figures. They have really nice detail and there's some interesting figures in the line.
